Let's Talk About Pain, Baybeee

Ok, it's no secret that we have all gone through pain. Whether it be physical, mental, or otherwise. And our individual pain scales vary immensely from person to person.

So, let's do it! Let's talk about pain! Now, I have an extremely high tolerance when it comes to any type of pain. So this could be difficult for me to honestly say that something was 'painful', but I guess I can give a few examples of what should have been painful.

Physical pain! Yea this one is always fun! Let's see, tattoo on my outer thigh, definitely takes the cake. Then, trailing that, 16hr hard labor with Zander's head stuck on my tail bone. Getting up and walking 4 hours after c-section of my ten pound one ounce Braxton. But this one was more of a hurt-so-good pain.

'Pain, is weakness leaving the body. It is a sign that you are still alive.'

Now, I know that we all try to repeat this in our heads when our personal trainer is working us like we are professional athletes and all you wanna do is yell "aaaaahhhhhhh screw you!" and then that feeling subsides, the pep talk with some intermittent laughing begins because guess what!? You signed up for this! Ha! Gets ya every time.

But if pain is weakness leaving the body does one ever stop to think, 'ok am I just the biggest sissy anyone has ever met and think everything is painful, or is there really that much flippin' weakness trying to bust outta here?'.

And then of course there's the all knowingly-popular 'Pain is Beauty', which I feel is more fitting to live by.

As a parent, I'm sure we can all agree that the worst pain one can ever feel is that of their child or children in pain.

Often times, there's nothing we can do but try to console them the best we know how. I will never get used to seeing any of my kids in pain, though I do know that it's a part of life. I continue to learn from my children, they teach me how to be a mom!

Until next time....
